Training

The Club offers a mix of informal member led sessions and access to more structured coach led sessions.  Different styles will suit different athletes.

The good thing is Triathlon HB has plenty of knowledge and experience within its ranks. That’s the whole point of being a member of a club, that means heaps more brains to tap into. Feel free to join in, ask questions and try something new.

Tuesday
  • AM: Swimming: Triathlon Squad Swimming, Flaxmere pool 5.45am -7am (You just jump into a lane that is going at your speed, slow to fast)
  • PM: Cycling: Hammer Taradale Clock Tower 5:15pm (Summer) 3:30pm (Winter) 50km Ride Hilly
  • PM: Cycling: Valley Express, Bridge Pa School 5:45pm (Daylight Savings Period) 34km Hills, For more details CLICK HERE
  • PM: Cycling: Pain Train Havelock North 75 Te Mata Rd 5:40pm 36km Ride High Intensity

Wednesday

  • PM: Trail Running – 6pm-7pm
Thursday
  • AM: Swimming: Triathlon Squad Swimming, Flaxmere pool 5.45am -7am (You just jump into a lane that is going at your speed, slow to fast)
Saturday
  • AM: Winter Swim 7:30am Ocean Spa Pool, Napier – Please note that this is not a structured training squad so be prepared to do your own thing.
  • AM: Summer Swim 7:30am Open Water Hardinge Rd (Hot Chick Car Park) Napier – (Summer) 1.8km or 2.5km Group Swim.
  • AM: Summer Swim 8:00am “Late Starters” Open Water Hardinge Rd (Hot Chick Car Park) Napier – (Summer) 1.8km or 2.5km Group Swim.
  • PLEASE NOTE THAT THE OPEN WATER SWIM IS NOT A TRI HB ORGANISED SESSION AND YOU TAKE PART AT YOUR OWN RISK
  • AM: Cycling After either of the above swims and a morning coffee, there are some who will be going out for social rides after swimming.
Sunday
  • Events: Check Specific Events Page’s
  • Cycling: Ramblers Cycling Club Group Ride – Leaves outside HB Today, Heretuanga St East, Hastings.  This is good if you are training leading up to the Tour of the Bay or the Round Lake Taupo ride. CLICK HERE to go to Ramblers Page.
